Hi, we're Learn To Include

Learn To Include (LTI) are a small team of passionate professionals who came together through a shared drive to see inclusive practice made accessible to all. Whilst we came from different backgrounds, what united us was years of working alongside some truly incredible people. Getting to know them, hearing their stories, and sharing part of their journey inspired each of us. Through those experiences, we saw just how much difference understanding, acceptance, and the right support can make. We've seen people thrive when they're valued for who they are. We've also seen hurt and missed opportunities when people aren't listened to, understood, or included.

Our journeys have taken us into schools, social work, third sector and community organisations. Along the way, we've had the privilege of learning from people with lived experience whose honesty, resilience, and insight have taught us far more than any course or textbook ever could. Their voices have shaped not only our understanding of inclusion, but also our belief that we can and must do better.

We've seen the positive impact that understanding and inclusive practice can have on individuals, families, communities, and organisations. Those experiences have shown us what's possible. But we were left wanting to do more. We wanted to find a way to reach beyond the people and organisations we each worked with directly, share learning more widely, and help ensure that the voices and experiences that had taught us so much could be heard.

LTI grew from that belief. A belief that understanding creates change, that lived experience matters, and that by learning from one another we can help build a kinder, more inclusive world where everyone has the opportunity to belong and thrive.

Why Learn To Include Exists

Learn To Include is on a mission to build a more inclusive society. We exist to help people gain the understanding to meet people with divergent bodies and minds with kindness and respect.

What Do We Do?

We provide digital inclusion training that's flexible and engaging, drawing on expert knowledge and real lived experiences to create educational experiences valuable to all.

Why Do We It?

Every course exists to help people feel equipped to meet the access and inclusion needs of divergent people with confidence.

Our training resources are designed to improve the inclusive practice of organisations and people across the UK for those with divergent minds and different bodies who may engage with them and their services.

What’s Important To Us: Our Values

Our values are the beating heart of everything we do and the building blocks for creating a fairer, more inclusive society. You’ll see them present in every one of the inclusion courses and resources.

Equality And Fairness

We believe that inclusion isn’t a nice-to-have, a favour, or an optional add-on; it’s a matter of equality. Unless we’re actively seeking to be inclusive, we’re passively discriminating.

Always Learning

We never stop seeking extra knowledge and deeper understanding. We're here to keep learning and are open to challenging our views. That's why we design our training with your experience in mind, maximising educational engagement and enjoyment from start to finish.

Radical Kindness Is The Way

We take every opportunity we see to demonstrate compassion and kindness. We're radically kind in our interactions with all, and it's these qualities that shine through in our inclusion resources.

Brave Enough To Be Bold

We understand and respect different views and don’t shy away from important topics. It can be easier to avoid topics that can stir controversy, but we’re brave enough to raise them.

Why? Because we believe in knowing how to navigate challenging issues with kindness, an open mind, and a commitment to equality

Roo Philip

I'm Roo and I work with Learn to Include. I do a bit of everything but am most excited by the coproduction work and getting the content right in our courses. I've worked in the world of disability since 2000, completing a PhD in Clinical Brain Sciences but more recently developing services in the charity sector.

A lot of very important people in my life are neurodivergent; friends, family, colleagues. I think the diversity of humankind is a massively underrated asset and want to help more people understand this. I want to live in a more fair, kind and supportive society and hope Learn To Include can help us get there. When not helping people Learn To Include i'm looking after my awesome kids and teaching yoga.

Sophie Jenkins

Hi, I’m Sophie from Learn to Include. I’m a project manager supporting operations, logistics and making sure we have the best team to achieve our goals!

I trained as a social worker 15 years ago and have worked in the world of disability, mental health and trauma since then. A number of my loved ones are neurodivergent and I am passionate about creating spaces and a world that is more inclusive – I believe that Learn to Include is a key factor in the mission to create a kinder world where diversity is seen and valued. In my spare time I love being outdoors, hiking, swimming and pottering in the garden.

Robert Glassford

Hi, I am Robert Glassford, and I’m the Creative Director at Learn to Include. I help bring inclusion to life through animation, design and most importantly storytelling, creating content that’s engaging, accessible, fun and easy to understand. As the father of a daughter with ADHD, I’ve seen first-hand how important it is to build environments where everyone can thrive. That’s what motivates me every day. Outside work, I enjoy making animated films and spending time with my family for movie nights.

Martha Homberg

Hi, I’m Martha, and I’m the Content Build Lead at Learn to Include. I develop the content of our training modules. I am disabled and neurodivergent myself and have spent my career supporting neurodivergent and disabled young people; I know well how life-changing inclusion can be. My goal: for everyone to get to experience it. Outside of work you can find me at metal gigs and festivals or cuddling my cats with a good horror movie in the background.

Sy Badham

I'm Sy and I am the videographer for Learn to include, helping bring to life the amazing work created by the team and contributors. I work on a broad range of film projects both commercially and on documentaries.

I believe this project is a really important tool in explaining neurodivergence and disability through the eyes of people who live with it in a world that isn't designed for them. I love capturing the stories of their amazing resilience, positivity and insights, alongside those who help them navigate a path. They really do have superpowers! It's a privilege to be involved, documenting inclusion through the lens of lived experience experts, helping them share their wisdom to a wider audience.

Daniel Lawman

Hi, I’m Daniel, and I’m a Digital Marketing & Technology Consultant at Learn to Include. I help create an engaging, accessible website experience with friendly user journeys, while advising on technology such as accessible, user-friendly learning platforms.

I’ve worked in digital marketing and IT since 2010, with a strong focus on usability. Having seen the value diverse teams bring, I believe inclusion helps organisations create something special. Outside work, I enjoy walking our dogs in the Derbyshire countryside and spending time with our slightly chaotic collection of pets - two dogs, two cats and two snakes.
